what a pain in my back
got my lonestar racing axle the other day and decided that today after work that I would install it.
looked at my manual and it looked real easy, remove some Nuts, slide the old axle out, slide new axle in, tighten some nuts....too easy 45 minutes tops
....got the new axle in after about 20 minutes and all I had left was to install axle lock nuts, throw on the hubs and wheels and be done ....
just a side note...that axecaliber axle is real nice and shiny right....triple chrome plating.....very snazzy.....too bad the chromer triple plated over the threads on the axle
I was pissed....what a pain in my azz....stock steel lock nuts, triple plated chromed axle, and a pipe wrench with pipe....arghhhh....2 hours later, my back is killing me....
believe me no locktite was needed on that 1.
what kind of idiots triple chrome plate over the manufactured threads on the axle?
I tried calling them up, but they were closed....think I lost 10 lbs and almost gave myself a hernia./
I have lost a little respect for lonestar's quality control....called the dealer I ordered from, and they said a few axle manufacturers have quality control problems.
sidenote....boy that +4 axle looks nice on the rear end...can't wait to get my a-arms hooked up and thrash some fresh dirt
but I will always curse at that axle due to the pain it has caused me...so if you see me...don't ask me about that darn axle
