My first ATV I rode was a Banshee. I was just wondering what all of your thoughts were on the Banshee no longer being around by 2006 or your memories of riding a Banshee?

I have lots of memories, and will have many more. Just like my old trx250r, its not going to be in production, but it will be around for a very long time.

it's a two edged sword for me. I salute yamaha for not taking the banshee out of their lineup in the late 80's, but I hate how yamaha has pretty much given up putting any r&d into making them burn cleaner. I guess it is up to bombardier to make a two stroke quad now. with sdi, the two stroke lives on.

Somehwere down the road, I am definatly going to have to buy one. I have no idea when or even how, but I am determined to buy one. It's sad to see it go, but all great things have to come to an end I guess.

you know what I read in one of the atv magazines, that yamaha is going to make like 4-6 more years of banshee's (something like that) before the dead line thing and then just release them every year..It will be sweet if they do..

It would be sweet if they had the last year be all special editions w/ only a few serial numbers. Something extremely rare for all those enthusiasts!

It sucks that they are going to quit making them. Yea they don't handle well but a good set of shocks and tires will change that.

Thats bull. A quad is meant to be ridden, there shouldnt be any special collectors edition that would be put behind a glass case for all eternity.

I agree a quad is meant to be ridden. But look at all of those Muscle cars too that had special models. Look at all of the Limited Editions they have now! The all black Banshee for 04' or is it 05'? Polaris 50th Anniversary is a great example of that! I never said that people should bottle it up and display it. Doesn't the same apply there? They only produced a couple of them...
