Default castrol oil bad?

I was wondering if the "Castrol Grand Prix 2 Stroke Motorcycle Oil" is a good choice for my banshee? Is it a synthetic or not? and what is the diff of synthetics? Yama-lube is a semi-synthetic, so should I be buying semi-sythetic oil? The bottle is 1 litre, and was about half the price of a 500ml bottle of yamah-lube, so is it bad quality or just cheaper?

I only run Castor 927. It rocks. But I would break in with yamacrap. Run it with rich jetting at 26:1. For first 3 tanks.

It's a 2000, I just bought it used though. Whats wrong with castrol? The price seams to be good, and in the yamaha manual it sayes to use castrol, but it sayes 3 different types, like r30 or somthing like that. This castrol oil dousn;t have a number, just sayes grand prix 2 stroke oil. ??????

Castrol isn't bad but the smell is horrible! Who enjoys the smell of rotting fish?! I believe they use fish oil which would explain the smell. anyone know?

You can't go wrong with MC1 or Yamalube...not many people use MC1 but it's great oil, I recommend you giving it a try!

First off your getting "castOr" and "castROl" mixed up. Castor 927 is by far the best smelling oil there is. One of the main reasons i run it. It smells kinda sweet like race gas. Hell its so good before i go out I start my shee and stand in the exhaust. Jk. Try 927 1 time and you see what I am taling about. But remember if you switch premixes to drain you gas from your tank.

I didn't think that the castrol sst was bad at all never had any problems due to that oil but I did switch to castor 927 and even though you pay for it that's a very good oil to run in your quad

Hey, I have been running Klotz R50 synthetic 2 stoke racing oil with gas.....But now I'm switching over to Alcohol, so I will be running Klotz Super Techniplate 2 stroke oil.... Can't go wrong with Klotz... Stay away from that Yamalube crap, its ok for the lawnmower but not the Banshee......

I always ran Golden Spectro synthetic at 50:1 in my MX bikes, I have never blown a top end in the 3 or 4 two strokes I ran it in.
