Default help!!...power is flat...

hi...today i was gettin ready to go the the pits..filled up the gas tank...i rode around for maybe 15 minutes and then i started noticing that when i gave it 1/2 throttle and more the power kind of went dead and it didnt rev up...i think something was in the gas...but i dont think it was water because water goes through all at once and then its gone..it back fires a little bit but not the huge pops....but at low rpm's its fine and drives like normal..i wanna go riding with a friend on the powerlines soon..should i cancel it?...thanks for your help...

First check to see if its on choke. After that crack open the float bowl and make sure your main jet is still in there, next test your battery to see what the voltage is, if none of that is it you move on to more complicated things.

first you loosen the boots that hold the carb to the head and the the hose that leads to the air box, then you pull it out of em and undo the 4 screws on the bottom of it that hold the bowl on. It will pour gas everywhere and maybe drop some little pieces out, dont lose em. You should see a little brass nub with a slot for a screw driver and a number on it that says 112.5. Thats the main jet. If its screwd in and theres nothing jamming it up, put her back together. Here is a diagram to make things easier. Diagram When you put it back together make sure all the little plastic pieces and such are where they are suposed to be (That little dangling thingy on a hinge is the float, leave it alone and be gentle with it). If there is water in there youll see it seperated from the gas in there.
