Default Blaster jetting

yep, its me again..... askin for help, since ive already thrown so much money onto my kx125, i need to do some cheap HP upgrades for my blaster. i was thinkin torque reeds and a reed spacer. who do you recommend for the reeds? the spacer? are they even worth it?

also, i put a k&n filter on my bike- with the reeds, spacer and filter with lid off wat would the jetting be? if you know a good place to look these things tell me so i dont have to bother you guys.

i also want to get my head polished or whatever you do, because it has a lot of carbon build-up. wat would be a good price to get it polished or machined or whatever? could i do it myself? if so what tools would i need- just a wire brush attachment for an electric drill?

would the jetting be any different with the head all fixed?

thanks in advance

i just saw an ad for an ignition key upgrade thing for the blaster. what does it do? it says that it gives 3-4 horsepower extra. its only $25 though.... it seems gimmicky. what do you think about it?

A degree key advances you ignition. Some people say it works, others don't. I have yet to try one.

The ignition advance will give better low end power, after you buy the degree key you still have get your hands on a blaster flywheel pluller. So plan on adding about $20 to the price of the degree key. Another way to advance the ignition is to slot the stator (same results, but you only need to buy the puller and have a rattail file, pm me for info on how to this).

Boysen dual stage reeds work great with stock cage, and they are reasonably priced. To polish your head you will first want clean it, be sure to use something that will not harm alluminum. Then use very fine grit sand paper topped off with some mothers polish. Taking the head in to get machined would raise your compression, do not have any more the .035 removed without having the combustion chamber reshaped.

would carb cleaner get the junk off? i can get a hold of some laquer thinner if i need that. would some fine 2000 grit sand paper do the job?? also would meguiars work instead of mothers because we have a ton of that stuff, but do i need to buff with it?

after i am done i just rinse it off and thats it? it seems like i need to seal it cuz im scared i might take too much off

Advancing your stator dosn't require you to buy any new parts. All you do is change the position of the flywheel relative to the stator. It's easy to do with a little instruction, but from the sounds of it I wouldn't go messing with your motor just yet. Take it to someone who knows what their doing, it could cost you more then its worth.
