Problem with 05 IRS Kodiak 450's

Z, thanks for the help. Any chance you could snap a pic of the front grease points? I can't seem to spot them, I've only covered the 4 rear.
As for the assorted zerk package - I got a 90 degree metric set and the threads were correct. The problem was once tightened they pointed in a direction that was inaccessible. Maybe with a washer they would point the right way but I was worried about sealing if there was a washer there.

there is 4 fitting all together on the rear suspension, 2 on each side
and 2 fitting on the rear drive shaft (1 at each U joint) this is the shaft from the engine/trans to the rear diff housing.
and 2 at the front drive shaft........ same place at the U joints.
8 grease fitting on the whole ATV.
I will recheck on those metric zerks, may be there is different sizes available, wish they would standardize these things.
thanks for the confirming that it is metric.

there is 2 different needle I have seen in the stores,
the one use is aprx 1/8-3/16 inch diam. and screws on to the end of the gun hose, it has a tapered end which will push the littlle ball at the end of the zerk fitting , the taper will act as a seal .
the other kind I have seen is like an actual needle (thin) , same as the one the doctor would stick you with.
this is the one you would use if you want to inject grease in to a rubber boot ( which I would not reccomend)
this slim needle I can not see usefull for zerks since the needle would push in the ball at the top of the zerk , but woulnot seal it as you pump grease so grease would just end up on the outside of the fitting.

you should be able to buy the 90 degree grease gun attachment and the needle attachments at most autoparts stores or where they sell tools,
example, I got the 90 degree fitting at---- Autozone----, and got needle at ----carquest --- awhile back before I even had the kodiak.
I would think if you have tool stores like ---sears-- , or---- farm and fleet---- ,or--- tractor supply --- to name a few these guys all sell tool and surely will have grease guns and attachments.
good luck

Dmger, happy to give a little back to a forum that's helped me a lot. The needle fittings were available everywhere I went, you shouldn't have a problem. I need to pick one up myself, and try to get at the front zerks.

just a line about those squeaks- you can check my post "2003 kodiak 400 problems (worst purchase ever) LEMON"
never really got an answer on the fix they finally gave me a new kodiak because they rolled it during a "test" drive. my guess is that when they are being assembled some thing is getting screwed up b/c they seem to have this problem from the start or they're fine.
