Warrior Starting Problems........???????
Picked up the Warrior on Sunday and it runs pretty good (other than the damned thing is so loud that I thought somebody had cracked the throttle on a short track dirt car!!)
Anyway...starting it this weekend (8 degrees) I obvously think "choke it" a bit....well if you choke it at all you get nothing. Leaving it open you get it to start but obviously it takes awhile to warm up.
I am going to pull the air box and clean the carb etc but would this be a symptom of being rich at idle or maybe something isn't working right?
Appreciate the Feedback!!

My guess is it's rich. My carb was dirty and I could cold start it w/o the choke. Cleaned the carb and when she first fired up it wouldn't run without the choke. The choke on the Warrior adds more fuel.

Box is right, partially. Cold air (more dense in O2) can cause it to run lean.
A dirty filter will cause it to run rich (can't get enough O2 into the cylinder.)

Warrior Starting Problems........???????
Well this thing has alot of all the problems guys!!
I basically stripped it of all it's body parts yesterday and just used some spray carb cleaner and it has already helped the problem some.
It is popping at times and the filter is dirty. Will be doing alot of work in it this weekend and I will have more to report. Appreciate the help!

Might be a good idea to check every last nut and bolt on it as well. You never know what previous owners have done to it. It would be a good idea to change the oil, grease up the zerks, and check the bearings as well. A friend of mine bought a 400EX used and the fool that owned it before him installed the oil filter backwards, even though it clearly stated which side went outwards. Goes to show how stupid people are in this world...

I'd recommend picking up a Clymer manual for the Warrior. Not sure what year you have, but the latest edition end in like -4 and goes through '03. I'm assuming '04 is the same, just different color. Cosmetically the Warrior didn't change much, but electrically and the carb changed over the years.
I'd pull your carb and clean it out good. Make sure all of the passages are clean and free flowing. Mine was really easy to take off. You're already most of the way there.
Also clean out the spark arrestor. I've stripped my bolt and can't get it out. But with you saying it's really loud, either they have an aftermarket exhaust, or pulled the spark arrestor anyways.
Defintaly clean that air filter.
