How do you keep your chains on the tires?

Default How do you keep your chains on the tires?

I plan on riding this weekend in some deep snow, bu i know that my chains always fall off when the tires spin and such, i found THIS, but need a more immediate solution. any input?> thanks.

Default How do you keep your chains on the tires?

Link didn't work for me. I used to take some heavy gauge single strand wire and wire my chains together. Say as you look at the wheelfrom the side of your quad, I would run wire across the tire sidewall to the other side. Top to bottom, back to front, etc. Do the same for the back. Also, slow down. At least the chains I had back in the 80's were only rated up to 15 MPH or something rediculous.

Hey RoscoePW. Look at my pics. I have springy thingys to keep the chains tight. I also removed about 6 inches of chain on each side (inside & outside) to keep the chains relatively tight even without the springy thingys.

Try letting all the air out of your tires before you put the chains on, then air them up after you put them on.
