Default wolverine tires

After rereading your response on rejetting, I have a question. Did you remove the plastic cover and then disconnect the throttle cable? or did you disconnect where it enters the carb? My woverine is 2005 and am not sure if we have the same carb. What is your stock mainjet size? My stock is a 141.3. Gonna do this tomorrow so you may not read this before I tackle it. It almost looks like I should be able to rotate the carb by only loosening the two circle clamps.??????? Thanks for your help. I have rejetted my Z400 but this is a first on the Wolverine. On the Z I replaced the brass bowl screws because they were phillips head screws and always "rounded" out because they welded themselves to the aluminum bowl threads so I put in hex head screws which work much better. Thanks for your help.

My Wolvy is stock engine wise. The stock main is a 140 or so. To remove the throttle cable, unscrew the plastic cover. You will see the throttle cable attached to a mechanical lever. With your hand move the lever so the cable can easily side out. Then remove the cable from the carb body (where it enters the carb).

You can just roate the carb. However, if you are not familiar with the set up, I would suggest removing it. It is NOT hard and would probably save you some time. By removing the carb it is also easier to deal with the needle jet, which I highly suggest you adjust. Also, I did replace all of the carb's phillips screws wtih stainless hex. Much easier to deal with and not much worry of stripping.
