05 kodiak overfenders?
Well I found a solution to fix my squeaking breaks on my 05' Kodiak 450... get the dealership to change them for free. Called the service manager at the dealership re: the recall and mentioned my brakes at the same time. Seems like the dealership has an agreement with the Yamaha rep. that they will change the brakes on all 05' models as long as its done before the warranty runs out. May be worthwhile to ask and see if your dealership has the same arrangement...

05 kodiak overfenders?
The max width of the stock 2005 Kodiak 450 is 43" per the spec sheet on Yamaha's site. It's accurate because I measured mine and it's exactly 43" from the outside edge of the front black foot board, which is the widest part.
My front overfenders stick approx. 2 3/4" past the foot board on both sides at their widest point, so a total of 5 1/2" extra overall with the overfenders on, making it about 48 1/2" overall in width.
The front is wider than the back of course. The rear overfenders stick about 1" or so further back than the back rack. They're roughly 6" below the back tube of the back rack. They're pretty flexible at the rear and can be pushed down some easily without breaking. You can use this info as a guide to determine if a drop basket would work or not.
