My cousin who has a 450r is gonna race when they start back up in April. He practiced with a couple guy's who raced A class this past weekend and could stay with them pretty good.
I want to run the winter series a bit next season see if I can get a good place in the standings in the 250 amature class. I won there a few weeks ago, but it dam near killed me, I need to get in better shape before I do that again. I'll run a few races over the summer at various places to.

As for quads, they have a stock class don't they, where you can only have a pipe or something? I would like to race a 450R or yfz450 but since I don't have one, I was going to run the stock class with my Z or maybe even EX if it is legal in that class once or twice and see how I do.

1) When you start to tip or are sideways on steep terrain and you need to put your foot down you have to reach over them which just doesn't work.
2) If you want to back up a tad while sitting on the bike you can't put your feet down with nerfs. (Especially on a 400ex)
3) climbing rutted hills they can get hung up in the ruts and stop you
4) sticks and stumps can wedge in them.

Really I would only use them on a race only bike, JMO

DRGNERTH, hey sorry to hear about your injury, do race down there? I raced at Earlywine a month or so ago on the dirtbike.
1) you never put your feet out on a quad anyway unless you want your foot ripped off....
2) Stop being lazy and get your butt off and push(or use reverse if you have it)
3) Never had this problem, I'd have to see it to believe it.....They're the same width(or narrower than your quad)
4) I've had sticks come through the netting, but its no issue.

Now, I've SAVED my feet/ankles countless times by having them. Been able to slide around tight corners using the nerfs, and prevented many a T-bone situations from causing physical injury to me because of my Nerfs. I'd never ride a quad without them.
FLYANBRYAN, don't be an a$$, Im intitled to my opinion. Keep in mind I am on awckward terrain a lot.

1) if you ride hard and on challenging terrain your going to start to tip sometime or another. LMAO, I can picture you starting to roll over and just sitting there and then get stuck under the quad. HELP! (Out of about 8 guys I ride with, we all put our feet down and never broken anything in over 15 years)
2) what if your playing tag and you don't have time to get off, huh?
3) no **** they are the same width as the quad, but if your not pussyfootin around and climbing rutted hills, jagged ruts that get between your tires will bottom you out with em.
4) this one may not cause a problem with sticks, but me and my friends like riding challenging terrain, and logs, stumps, large rock etc. WILL get hung up.

One of my buddies bought them and had these problems, they got put on ebay. This doesn't mean they are a bad item or someone shouldn't get them, they just get in the way for what I personally do.

1. Sometimes when I'm doing donuts, the quad will come up on 2 and I just kick it back over. Somebody needs to quit listening to their momma on how to ride.
2. I agree they get in the way when you want to push it back too. Missed a turn by like 2 inches the other day on a flat surface and I AM LAZY! I wasn't happy about getting up!
3 n 4. They don't seem to hang on sand though.

I havn't talked to anybody so i'm not for sure. My cousin talked to someone and the said there was 4 classes= Pro,a,b, and c. The only thing he told me was that the c class couldn't jump the triple onle double it.

drgnerth, Im sure there is more than 4 classes. There is a couple cc limit classes, 2-stroke, powder-puff, and Im almost sure there is a stock class.

Your right about the not being able to jump the tripples in certain classes. They wouldn't let me jump em in the amature ones for bikes either. One isn't bad and I would jump, but one is like 10' out of a turn. Only the pros were hitting it. No quads do tho. I guess they are redoing that tho cause it is so dangerous.

moto are you talking about the indoor track because there is only 1 triple, or are talking about jumps after the whoomps and the curve? I've never seen anybody jump that. It would be impossible on a quad i would think and hard on a bike.

I dont like nerf bars personaly, But I do have them on my fiance's bike. I have had them on most of my quads but my YFZ has better pegs and I dont find my self needing them. Also I was high marking a old quarry and I can tell you that If I had nerfs on I would have lost the bike. Everyone is different so ride a friends bike with them on and see if you like them.

Yeah that one, they consider it a double. All of the A-class riders jump it and some B-class riders do. Dirtbikes that is.
