Default Warrior Possible Tranny Problem?

I dno.. but when i am kicking down from 2 to 1, and then try to go to nuetral, it just goes from 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 when i try again. it completly skips nuetral. I sit there for like 5 minutes trying the same thing over and over, and it never kicks into nuetral. I eventually just shut it off and try kicking it into nuetral then, and sometimes it works. i dno whats wrong.. can someone help me out?

I had an 87 and an 02 Warrior and had the same prob with both. They do that brand new. It was always hard to find neutral once they warmed up. I usually did the same as you - shut it off and then it would go in.

Default Warrior Possible Tranny Problem?

I have ridden many warriors, I have 5 buddies who all have them ranging from 88 - 2002, and I recently picked up a 2001. On every single one of them hitting neutral is tough. Now your clutch could be slipping, but ill tell you it took me a coupe days to get used to hitting [N], the key is that u have to lift up as lightly as possible. Trying to hit it going from 2 to 1 is almost impossible.

keep practicing, if all else fails what I use to do until i mastered it was turn engine off in 1st keep the key on and reach down and shift up to neutral using your hand.

Rock the quad back and forth and it will be easier to hit neutral.

Mine does it too .. seems to be an inherent trait with the Warrior .. my other buddy has a 2001 Warrior which does it too, but much worse than mine does. Mine goes in easily if I haven't been riding hard .. I've found the easiest way without shutting off the motor is to do it while coasting to a stop ...
