Winch information!
#1
I recently purchased a 99 BB 4*4 equipped with a T1500 Superwinch. It came with a handlebar mounted rocker controll switch which didn't work. I removed the switch and took it apart and found it to be a very cheaply made unit. The case for it was made of a soft plastic that warped when the switch was used. This caused the bottom of the swich to pop out of place. My question is what should I replace it with? Is the rotary type switch more durable? Are they water proof? Or should In replace it with another new rocker switch. Any opinions appreciated!

NO! I WOULD'NT GO BACK WITH THE ROCKER SWITCH I'VE REPLACED MINE THREE TIMES. I FINALLY REPLACED IT WITH A HEAVY DUTY ROCKER SWICTH FROM WHERE I WORK. IF I WERE YOU I'D GO WITH THE ROTARY TYPE OR SOMETHING BESIDE THAT YELLOW PIECE OF CRAP!

I got a Northern Tool and Equipment Co. catalog in the mail, they are selling Superwinch model t1500 for 129.99 and model t2000 for 189.99. Is this a good deal. They also sell the mounting kits. How often do you use your winch? Their phone number is 1-800-533-5545.
