Default Blaster bottom end rebuild

Hi folks...
Hoping someone can give me a bit of guidance here.

Sons 2003 blaster crank froze solid so I decided to rebuild it.

Its been awhile since I last split some cases, but I figured I had it under control.

Replaced the crank with a hot rods wiseco crank assy, new bearings , new seals
Top ends been bored, has a new pro-X piston waiting to go on.

Here's the problem ..

When I put the cases back together I was careful as hell.

Heated up the cases, froze the bearings etc

the bearings went into the case with no trouble.

then I installed the crank assy (frozen) into the case oppiste the flywheel , slipped in no problem

put the yama bond 4 between the cases , waited a minute, then slid the other side on.

now this side did give me just a slight probelm going together, so I lightly tapped it with a rubber mallett until it seated up.

next I used a large socket as a spacer then tightened the nuts on the diferrent sides to tighten the assy together and to make sure the bearings were seated all the way.

Everything looks good , my only concern is that there is a fair amount of drag when rotating the crankshaft, about like stiring peanut butter, Here is the question ... should the crankshaft be fairly freewheeling or can it have some drag?

Is there something in my process of putting the cases together that sounds suspect?

I'd really like to get an opinion from someone that rebuilds lower ends on a regular basis.

And maybe some pointers on how I might be able to rectify this problem if in fact the drag is not a normal thing.

Hope that makes sense...

And thanks for your help.

If it's a new totally new assembly then perhaps there should be a little more drag than normal. However, I would get a professional opinion before you put it back together and seize it up again.

Fixed it..

decided to resplit the cases and see whats up...

I think the seal had a bind or maybe the slight tapping on the cases gave it a bind.

This time I only used the large socket with a washer and nut to draw the crankshaft into the bearing.

rotating the crankshaft as I tightened it to make sure it did not bind again and if it did I'd know exactly where it started.

Oh yea I lubed the heck out of everything with engine oil..

Anyway went back together with no incedent and the crank spins like butter..

Just thought I'd post in case anyone ever has a similar problem.
