Higher octane fuel DOES NOT give you more power, as comonly thought. The higher the octane rating the slower the fuel burns, thus the less force it has on the piston. The slower flame front allows a higher compression to be used.
All things being the same, a motor running on the lower octane fuel will produce more power.
