250r VS 660r VS yfz 450

They made the TRX250R from 86 to 89. 4 years. They only made the three wheeler in 85. They made both the three wheeler & the quad in 86, with the same motor going in both. So they did make the motor for 5 years. With various changes each year to the motor.

You're right.
Clymer makes a repair manual from 85-89

thanks for the clarification, 2504LIFE. I didn't mean to seem vague, 1988fast250X. I was referring only to the quads when I said 4 years (86-89).
Nonetheless, you're mistaken (or not clear in your words) on the ATC250R's lifespan.
The ACT250R started in the early 80's...1981 I think. ATC250R's last year (86) was the TRX250R's first year. Those trikes faded quickly after that, especially the racers.
The Tecate (KXT250 3 wheeler) may have stuck it out another year til 87...don't remember. That thing had to be the fastest production off road machine with more than 2 wheels. Vicious, Vicious Fickin' Machine!

Yes, it was demon and not for the faint-hearted...not that any of them really were!
here's a link to some pics. If you scroll to the bottom there's more pages. The 1986 model is the one at the top right corner. Then there's more pics of the 86 and earlier models throughout. enjoy!

RAPTORS ARE THE SLOWEST QUAD ON THE MARKET AS FAR AS DISPLACEMENT 2 HP 4 atv's, yet you still buy them. The most problem matic quad you could buy but you still think there the best quad ever made. NEVER HAVE I BEEN BEAT ON A 250R by A RAPTOR, but I also can ride. I will step up to ANY raptor this seasion in glamis. SO PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOU MOUTH IS. I WILL $$$$$ get rich. 4-strokes will never = the power of a 2 stroke in displacement so just hope all us 2 strokes vanish into thin air.lol it really makes me sad when I see you guys getting towed back from the hill.

Simmer down, Bansheesmoker. You say 2-strokes produce more power per cc like you just discovered that fact. Everyone knows that. Everyone also knows 2-strokes are not as reliable as 4strokes so, shut your man-pleaser.

Fahq, I checked out you're pic. gallery, nice pics. I am sure one day you will be able to post a pic. of that little eton pulling you back to camp.Don't hate a two stroke just because you got smoked by one. A stock two stroke is reliable until major mods. are put into effect. Even when you do major mods to a 4 stroke the reliability is compromised.Raptors are not known for their reliability, they are known #1 for looks and #2 for all the problems that occur when you own one

MDS2106, I thank you for complimenting me on my pictures. I disagree however with your take on the Raptor. The first year they had problems with the tranny and since then, I have not heard of anything major or anything happening with regularity. In regards to "hating" on 2-strokes because I have been smoke by one, I don't think so. You, your 18posts and no-pic-profile have a lot to learn. I am realistic in my quads abilities and/or limitations. I bought my quad to please me, not so I could bench-race with people that don't have quads. What kind of quad did you say you had? Didn't see that in your profile...

I have a eton 50,that I might add is alot more reliable than a CRAPTOR 660.If you need any help with that dxl 90 let me know.By the way the little 90cc two strokes can be made to beat a 300ex with a little work and money. The good thing about it is that there is no trans. to worry about so I am sure it will be able to pull that CRAPTOR back to hte camp when you're trans. fails OH BY THE WAY THAT IS THE SAME EXCUSE I USE FOR MY 50CC ,THAT IT IS TO PLEASE ME, BUT IT IS ALSO AS SLOW AS CHRISTMAS JUST LIKE YOU'RE RAPTOR
