One thing worth noting is that age can play a major factor in insurance cost. Someone who is 18 will pay a lot more than someone who is 25 or 30 years old.

Just out of curiosity, I checked to see what Progressive would charge me to insure an '05 YFZ.
I did it with $500 comprehensive deductible, no collision and liability/bodily injury coverage.
They quoted me at $133 a year. By the way, Im 25 years old.
I'll tell ya, for arguably the fastest quad you can buy, thats pretty darned good. Im paying $180 a year for my snowmobile and its not even close to being the fastest snowmobile there is.

I have my quad insured through State Farm. $525 per year but, that is full coverage. Theft, fire, collision, glass. Yes, it has glass coverage. I have no idea why, it just does. Got the fire because I learned when a friends garage burned that the homeowners won't cover the quad.
Good luck.
I think you're getting taken. I have the EXACT same coverage from State Farm for $117 a year. I'm paying less for my Scarab with a 502 than you are for a four wheeler. I'd talk to my agent if I were you.

Thanks for the heads up. I have my truck, wheeler and Harley through them. You would think it would be cheap. You think I am paying more because I live in the welfare state of New York?
That may have a lot to do with it. As you can see I live in Arkansas. I have buddies who live in your area with boats who pay 2-3 times as much for their boat insurance as I do. Maybe I'm just lucky???

You are lucky to live in Arkansas. NY business is riddled with taxes by the state gov't to support all of the subsidies (welfare). People move to NY for the sole purpose of getting on welfare here. It sucks.

Welfare is not something we see around here. If you can't find a job here you don't have a pulse. Very good points.
