So you all think I should focus more on the yzf 600, or the katana, or sv650...

I appreciate all of your help

Go used, and if you are riding more than 25 miles to work get something more comfortable than a "track bike". Throttle is like a drug, I am way too dangerous on my gsxr for my age, I thought if I waited until I got into my 30's before getting a track bike I would be able to handle it, well I can handle it but I really push it too far!

135 miles is gonna hurt on a sport bike, ALOT. Sport bikes arent alot of fun on the highway either unless you are really going fast and passing cars. Plus if you are bringing anything with you it will have to be on your back.

Get a used Magna or Shadow or something similar for highway cruising, maybe get a sportbike for around town?

Im tellin ya man... SV650. (or the faired version with fairings more like a supersport bike, the SV650S)

Very comfortable, reliable, pretty fast, very good handling, and 5800 BRAND NEW. (think about how cheap they are a year or two old!)

My bud has one, and he rides it 100 miles to long beach for school, thats 100 miles each way, about 3 days a week.
Guess what... he LOVES it.

Just research the bike.
