not 2 stroke? so no more 2 strokes are gonna be made? what about 2 stroke dirtbikes are they still gonna, make them? are they gonna make the blaster anymore?
why is there such a movement against 2 strokes? the emmissions? what about snowmobiles most of them are 2 strokes?
Some company should come out with a brand new 2 stroke sport quad.

i think the 2-stroke conflict is only effecting california right now, not sure though. 2-strokes are supposed to become outlawed in a few yrs.

No offense, but it's been a well known fact for several years now that 2 strokes are on the out. Not like it was just annouced yesterday or anything.

Sorry if this reply is too straight forward. I just didn't know how else to word it.

Peace,

Buck

Now what they need to replace it with is a four stroke twin. I would love to see something like 500 or 600 in the same side by side configuration of the Banshee's cylinders. Give us a 10,000+ rev limit, powerband similar to the YFZ, efi, 6 speed tranny w/ reverse, and throw the whole thing in a 700R chassis. Might be expensive, but Yamaha has the engine technology to make it be a runner. They have plenty of high perf parts that can be shared from existing models. Punch out the bore a little, tune that puppy for a bit more low end and reliability and you would have a great motor for a flagship 4x4 also

i keep thinkin of an engine similiar to the r-1. instead of a 4 banger 1000, they should use the same engine only drop two cylinders and make a twin cylinder 500

Why not go with a RC-51 v-twin. That would be awesome, and it would sound MEAN. But of course they would detune the hell out of it.

I can vouge for that...(check sig and pic page!) that WOULD be awesome.. and scary!

However, check the Honda forum thread titled "CR500 vs Yamaha 426" and read the last post on page 5 right now.
(from the guy who says he works at a bombardier dealership)

He says they are working on new 2 stroke technology.......

That sure is a sweet bike Mr.350x. I was almost think about getting a Suzuki TL1000R. Those are pretty nice as well. I bet if the manufacturers put all there time and money into 2 strokes like they do with 4 strokes there would be some very very mean quads out there. But you would have too many people getting hurt on them so they would have to detune them, or worst comes to worst, they will just stop making them. It will be like the 80's all over again.
