Ok my cousin is 15 years old and wants to get another fourwheeler. He is 5'9" and weighs around 130-140. He sold his blaster and wants to get something bigger. He rides feilds, rock pits, gravel roads, and hard pack. He will only ride yamaha and only wants a 2- stroke, thats where he's stuck at. Because i know he doesn't want another blaster and i think the banshee is probably to powerful for him. (i don't know that for a fact, never ridden a banshee).
So that is like the only choice there is.
He's like the pickiest person i know.
Any input is great.

How about a Blaster with a 400 kit, pipe, 40mm carb, piston, wheels, tires, suspension, paint job, sprockets, jets, and all of those other goodies. I've heard one guy say that a heavily modified Blaster beat a Raptor and a DS. WOW! That's sayin a lot comming from 18 hp to 40 hp+!

Guy where did you get a 400 kit for a blaster? That's doubling the size!

A 100% stock banshee isn't violent at all. It's for sure powerful, but someone intelligent enough will not open wide at top RPM in a tight wood trail. If you think your cousin can understand that (he should), then no problem at all. I'm 17, 1m70 and 65 kgs (sorry, you'll have to do the conversion in feet and pounds), my banshee is my first ATV (though I used to ride MX bikes before), and I haven't had any trouble handling it...now I do, mostly because of its weight (?!?) -I understood that to go fast through a bumpy section, just put in 3rd, wide open, and all wheeling- but no troubles about too much power. But I'm careful to where I smash the throttle. Like I said, a tight wood trail isn't the best place to test the high end of a shee...hehe

How about a Warrior? Or if you can get him to cross manufacturer lines, a 400ex. Much larger engine, but he will be switching from 2-stroke to 4-stroke.

I'm with the guy that said a Warrior or a 400ex.
There's way less maintance and they both are faster then the Blaster. Not only that,if he wants a little more power you can always get a piston, cam and a pipe. Plus I think you have to be 16 to buy a Banshee. Unless Mom or Dad actually buys it and gives it to him, you know how that goes.If he rides at any altitude it's harder to jett a Banshee vs a Warrior or 400ex.
I just happen to be having my warrior in to get a Wiseco piston, Web racing cam, Valve springs, and porting /polishing done. I'm also 220lbs and 6'1".
I have no problems with my warrior. As a matter of fact I love it. I do have an Axle and 20" tires on it with a rear fox shock. But the warrior is a great reliable quad. And so is the 400ex

I sure hope the 400 kit came with a liquid cooling kit because that thing would over heat unbeliveably fast!! I heard anything over a 240 can burn up extremely fast!! And to answer your question, a stock banshee will not haveto much power but u have to know when not to take advantage odf the power it has!

Cool. From what some people have been saying about the banshee bottom end, i was getting confused because that was one of my choices for a new quad. Some people i have talked to say that you can't run a 2-stroke hard in the cold weather.
And people have said that they aren't any fun on trails because of no bottom end. But now taht some one finally talked some sense in me about riding on trails i might purchase on of the SHEE's.

Either.. Blaster with 240cc or 265cc BIG BORE KIT, or a WARRIOR.. Both good Quads! And a Banshee ain't to powerful, I am 14 and I am getting a Raptor.. Don't go with Honda.. It will fall apart coming out of the pickp.. HAHA .. Hey what can I say I hate Honda..
