Default 660 Rappy vs Yz125

orite, well a mate of mine has got a rm85 but its tuned to the max!!!!! or so he tells me. anyway my rappy is stock and when we race i win but we set off pretty close. i can get into 4th gear by the end of the race. anyway he is upgrading to a yz125 and i don't know whether he is going to get a stock one or another tuned bike. i am gettin a scorpion exhaust and a K&N air filter so do you think i could still win? this is in all types of race i.e. short drags, long ones etc. all the races wopuld also be on grass, or dirt. cheerz

i'm not too sure about your raptor, but my YFZ i had before i sold it to get my 700 Raptor when i raced my friend who has a YZ125 that had Pro circuit pipe, K&N, and reeds. My YFZ had White Brothers E2 pipe, K&N, Cam Mod, and +1000 rpm CDI. I could beat him by about a quad length when we were drag racing on pavement doing a 3rd gear rolling start. Hope that helps.

They make airfilters for just about everything out there, and you can install the universal filters on everything else.

when i raced my one friends 660(t-4 slip on, uni filter, 6 uni vents, itp backs) i would get him off the start by a bike length and then it we would stay the same to the end. it was a 300' drag and i would hit 5th at the end but he would jus shift into 4th, so anything longer than 300' you will win. when we raced i was able to keep the front wheel less then 6 in. off the ground so i got the most available traction. note that i have stock exhaust, carbon reeds, uni filter, and i was running a little lean on the main that day.

Before my raptor up and died on me, i raced that same bike that yfzrydermace was talking about. We went from a dead stop on hard top for alittle over 1/4mile. It was no contest the yz blow the nerf's off my raptor. I did manage to get the jump on him, The road was wet and i had bald tires so i just dumped the clutch and i was off while he was fighting wheelies. But while i winding third up there he goes, shifting gears in a wheelie past me like i wasn't even there. By the end he was a good 50' past me. After that he just laughed and said i did pretty good for a raptor. And just for reference mace HAD a pretty wicked yfz, his new raptor, well for Dustin (yz125) that is just another raptor to put to shame. And i would also like to add this, what if Yfzrydermace and dustin raced from a dead stop on level ground whould the results be the same?

To have the same HP to weight ratio as a 2006 YZ 125 a Raptor 660 would need to have 72 HP. So the advantage should go to the YZ 125, if the riders and tuning are equal.
