Raptor 700 speed limiter
#13
I have found this as well. In both 4th & 5th the 700R will not rev out as much as in the lower gears. After I fitted a GYTR high flow air filter, removed the air box cover and installed the Dynojet powercomander III it feels to be reving much harder in these gears now. The Looney Tuned duel exhaust system that I ordered has arrived in Sydney and is on its way to me now. Weird.......are you guys actually finding a "Hard" rev limiter in 4th or 5th, meaning, is it going "bap bap bap bap bap", or is it just not pulling the taller gears.
I just thought that because Mine is still stock that it was too corked up to get up into the upper rev range, due to the stock intake, stock exhaust.
I havnt found a "hard" cutoff on mine, to lead me to believe there is a "hard" cutoff programmed into the ecu

G'day Boom,
It just wouldn't rev as hard in 4th n 5th as it did in the lower gears no matter how long I held it open. It was like it got so far and started running up and down on the spot. After helping it to breathe & installing the efi controller it pulls harder and revs harder.
Pipes are getting clooooser

.....yeah, thats what I thought may be the case. My old 660 did the same thing when it was bone stock. The reason is because there isnt enough horsepower stock to compensate for the drag incurred at high speeds. Your fighting wind and weight. The only way to win that fight and use up either your rpms or gearing is MORE power, which you have done by doing the add-ons you put on.
Glad that fixed it, you guys had me scared that it was programmed into the ecu or something!
