Default Raptor shifting hard

Picked up a used 02 Raptor 660 and its got some shifting problems. Just idleing it doesnt want to shift up and down through the gears very good. Kinda gets hung between gears when shifting down and its hard to get into reverse. If you let out just a hair on the clutch it will shift in, but it shifts hard with a clunk when it goes into gear. Shifts up fine when riding but doesnt want to come all the way back down to 1st without letting out on the clutch lever a bit. Its very rough feeling. Ive seen this problem before on numerous quads and always assumed it was a worn out shift drum due to miss shifts. Am i on the right track or could it actually be the clutches themselves?
One other quick question. Whats the stock jetting a 660 Raptor, i have a feeling someones jetted this thing way rich.
Lots of work to do on this one.

I haven't heard of many shifting problems with the Raptor. Broken gear dogs is about it. The trans is mostly trouble free except for that.

Probably the linkage or cable adjustment.

A fresh oil change could'nt hurt either. After that I would double check the shift linkage and then if all else fails take the side cover off and inspect for proper operation.

well, it's an '02 and it's used. not a bad idea to replace the clutch, don't you think? it could be the stock linkage shifter setup, but it seems more than likely you need some new plates and springs. my clutch made it to Jan. of '05 before I had to replace it.
