Default How to tell if a master cylinder is leaking air

On my 99 warrior that I just got the front calipers were missing when I got it so I just put the ones I got from ebay on. Anyway I have been bleeding for awile with no luck. Im just wondering if theres a good tricks to isolate were air is comming in at?

When you bear down on the brakes nothing should be coming in, fluid would be coming out at a leak, maybe you dont have them bled good enough? just my .02¢

Are you tightening the bleeder all the way before you release the lever? Are you making sure the resivior is full before each attempt? Did you use brand new squish washers on the banjo bolts?

I was having a hard time bleeding my Harley's front brakes when I put stainless lines on it. I filled the master, and put the banjo fitting from the caliper in a bottle of brake fluid. I just kept pumping and tapping the line until I didn't see anymore air coming out of the master. Then, I slowly pulled in on the lever while my brother re-connected. It was being a real pain.

Default How to tell if a master cylinder is leaking air

crack the banjo bolt lose and bled it from both banjo's (as if you were bleeding it from the caliper). Most likely you have an air bubble in your banjo
