Default 04 YFZ 450 Problem

Bike wont start using the ignition switch, when it is running the high beams and the brake/tail light does not work, but the low beam lights do work. this is a 2004 YFZ 450, what do you think the problem could be!

Battery could be toast, hook it up to a charger and see how it acts.

it is probally a battery, and not the stator, is that what you are thinking!, if you cross the wires and make it fire, it just wont fire using the switch! and when it is is running the low beams work but not the high, and not the tail lights!

Default 04 YFZ 450 Problem

Will it PULL START??????????? when running are the low beam light dim at idle and do they brighten up upon throttling the quad ??????????

put an OHM/VOLT meter on your battery NOT running. It should read 13 volts.........

put the same meter on it running and it should read 14.3 volts running (throttle it up).......

Check ALL your electrical connections take them apart and clean ANY debris (WD-40 works very well) in any of the plugs. Use dilelectric grease and snap them together GOOD AND SNUG........

You could have a stator problem........
