im confused... help me!!!!!
i dont know much about premixing 2 stroke engines. i dont have a ratio cup, so could you tell me if 50:1 uses more oil or less that 32:1. i rebuilt my buddies blasters top end and im running 50:1 with amsoil and premium gasoline. It is WAY to smokey. and i checked to see if its a bad seal, and fortunately that wasnt the problem. so i just need to know what ratio to use that will not make excessive smoke, and that willl not destroy my top end. please give me some answers ASAP i want to try and have it right tomororw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone correct me it I am wrong but I believe 50:1 is 50 parts gas to 1 part oil, so it has less oil in it. As far as the blaster is concern. I would call a yamaha place and ask what they recommend to run in it and what octane of fuel. If it doesn't have high compression then you are wasting money on fuel. With my chainsaw and weedeater, I use Stilh 2 stroke oil, that comes in little six packs. The little bottles will tell you how much gas to mix with, in my case 1 gallon. I just get a 1 gallon gas jug and put in one bottle. Can't get much easier.

well the manual reccomends premium gasoline. before i rebuiilt the top end the top end was destroyed becasue of detonation. my teacher thinks it was because the previous owned shaved the cylinder head. and i dont think premium gasoline was used either, and thats supposed to help prevent detonation.

If it recommends it, then use premium fuel. A problem I have seen with a 2 smoke is if you ride around or should I say cruising in it, it will foul plugs. Next thing someone puts a hotter plug in to help with the fouling which is ok till you start driving it hard, than it will melt down. Not saying that is what happen to this motor, but I have seen it happen before. 2 strokes make good power, but you got to keep them winded up. Also, I would use a 2 stroke oil yamaha or a dealer recommends. An make sure you have the recommended plug in it also. LOL

All 2 strokes smoke at the start and they will all drip a little that is the nature of the beast. I hope you are not just putting around as that will kill the poor motor. The 2 strokes love to move the RPM need to be keep at a high rate to make power and run right. If the bike has warmed up and is at running temp it should not smoke a lot unless you let it idle for a short time then give it the gas it will smoke just for a few seconds and should clear up but it will always smoke some.

Well if it is smoking that will never happen just screw up the plug if you run to much oil through it Hope you know that 2 strokes like to be run look at the little tinny RC motors they are 2 strokes and run a 18 thousand rpm's and the race one are well over 20 thousand rpm's 2 strokes are made to run fast ask any of the banshee racers
