Default 1989 warrior problem

I got a 1989 Yamaha Warrior and took it completely apart except for the engine to paint everything and to take the carbuerater off and when I went to take off the exaust the exaust bolts snapped off the head and was wondering if I could fix it with out taking the atv apart again because we just put it back together because we forgot we broke the bolts.

sounds like youre in a mess! Those bolts are in a bad spot. Id try to get them out with vicegrip pliers first. You may have to heat them up some to loosen them or Weld a longer stud to them to have some room to work with. I know it sucks, but you will probably be better off taking the head back off.

The first thing is not to freak out.. it happens all the time.. Don't let it stop you from fixing up old quads. Second, remove the head. There is no easy way to fix it right with the head installed. Unless you have done this type of work before don't try to drill it or use an "easy out". Find a local engine/machine shop or start shopping on ebay for another head. A good engine shop will be able to fix it for pretty cheap as long as you don't take it to them AFTER you screwed with it. A broken drill bit or "easy out" will just make it cost more. It never hurts to know how to rebuild motors, even if you are forced to learn it because of broken studs. Knowing when it is time to take parts to an engine shop is the best thing you can learn right away. Even dealers need to send things out to be done at machine shops.
