hey guys i can get a decent deal on a K&N for my quad and was wondering if its a big improvement over stock??? My quad still stock for now just tring to get a start on performance mods. Thanks Anthony

 

It definetly helped some on mine, but you will not see a really big improvement with just an air filter at any time, yes you might gain a little hp, but I noticed my wolvy had a little more top end speed, I was up about 1-2 mph. I definetly think that the K&N is worth the small cost of it.

 

You will notice a bigger increase if you combine the K&N with a good exhaust and a jet kit.

 

For me, the benefit of not having to buy a paper filter every week during the dusty periods is worth buying one alone. However, be sure you get the Outerwear with it. The consensus seems to be that without one, dust WILL get through, and your engine life will be reduced.

Like others said, intake and exhaust mods work better as a pair than separately ... this is true on basically everything motorized. You might notice a small difference in power with the K&N, but the power will increase with a more freely flowing exhaust.
