95 timberwolf 4x4 clutch slipping or something
#1
i am new to the timberwolf. i am trying to get it going for the old lady. i have a grizz 660. nothing alike. i replaced the centrifical clutch and the damn thing is still sliping. i am about ready to replace the other clutch. or should i not even waste my time. it takes off fine but about half way through the throttle it starts to slip. any ideas??

Have you actually tightened the clutch? there is an adjustment on the side of the case you might want to try to figure out. i dont exactly know how to adjust it, but i just tightened the big nut then tightened the screw in the middle and now mine picks up wheelies in second or third gear from standing still. also, make sure you are using the factory recommended or maybe thinner oil, but dont go too thin. if it is slipping, then you might have too high of a viscosity oil for your clutch(takes more tim for the oil to leave the clutch plates-slipppage) but dont go too thin because the oil is not only a lubricant for the engine but also a governor of sorts, controlling RPM and movements. hope it helps
