i have a yamaha warrior that im trying to identify the model year. it needs a lot of work.
i cant find any tags or numbers on the frame yet, i did find a number on the engine block: 3gd 099497. can anyone tell me where else to look for a serial or model number? or identify from the engine block number?

The vin number will be on the left side, bottom frame tube, under the engine area.

 

if its 3g... it might be a 1992 because thats around my vin what color is your plastic ....do u have round or square headlights u can also look in a book i think dont quote me but its the 8th number or letter and if you look it up it will tell u ...what kind of problen you having with it

 

it has round headlights and the plastic was originally red. it is very beat up, but in running condition, and i want to restore it. i bought a clymer manual and by looking at the color coded wiring diagrams the only one that matches the wiring colors is 1997- 2001 model years. is that possible?

ive also looked for the vin number and cant find a thing, is it stamped into the frame or a tag?

 

It's stamped into the frame tube. If you're standing at the left of it, looking at the side, it will be on that bottom frame tube about 10 inches in front of the shifter.
