wolverine skid plates?

a friend of mine bought a wolverine last week, and I couldn't believe it came without skid plates. I told him my bike wouldn't leave the garage without skid plates. I always have rocks bashing off the bottom, and without the skids, I know that aluminum engine casing wouldn't last 10 minutes. Most skid plates will do the trick as far as keeping rocks from bashing underneath, but I'd suggest steel or aluminum for this reason.... my brother had plastic skids on his wolv, and when he hit a tree with one front wheel, his frame twisted, and that broke the skid plate. I believe that if he had steel or aluminum, his frame may not have twisted at all, because it would have had to twist all 8" or so of skid plate too. The metal skids act as reinforcment for your frame.
