Why Slam Other's Ride?!?
#21
It always come back to the same argument: "I am faster/stronger than you." Who cares. Me and my riding buddy are always poking fun at each others quads... but we even switch sometimes. It's fun to ride the others' ATV but we sure would not buy one. Personal choice and individual taste is a great thing.
So what if I loose a couple drag races or my quad weighs in at over 500 lbs. No big deal. Some other quads weigh in at under 400 lbs but would not make it 50 feet on the trails I ride.
So until some new manufacturer makes the "perfect" ATV for every situation we will all have different rides!
"Perfect ATV"... now there's another argument coming...

Quadfather...It would seem to me that
1- his is in fact a jackass
OR
2- his overcomplimented little brother/sister/kid is using his screen name.
If he is as intelligent as you say then it must be selection 2.
I have heard that children have been known to call and order pizzas using someone elses name just to see what happens.
Certainly an intelligent adult could not be so petty.

What I don't get is the "mine's faster than yours". Sure, people put(this is an example)my raptor/banshee/warrior is faster than a 250r. But, say, is it faster than Gary Denton on his 250r? Uh, I doubt it. I think the bashers don't know how to ride so they buy the high-zoot machines in a weak effort to make up for it. (another example) I have a stock TBlazer 250, my cousin has a warrior, my other cousin a 400ex, and my friend has a raptor. We all got our new quads around may/june of this year('cept the raptor). I'm the only one that has been riding quads since I was 7 or 8yrs old, and on tight, difficult trails I get to the end, take a leak, light a cigarette and wait a while for the others to get there. Sure, all the other quads are faster then mine, but not with them riding on 'em. Of course, these are the guys who constantly bash my machine, too. It kinda changes the subject that they can't ride for ****!!!!!

WHOA!!!!!! Sounds like Holyman and Diogenes have some deeper issues than people making fun of their bikes. Can you say, "inferiority complex"? Just because you were the last to be picked for dodge ball in elementry school, or your first girlfriend laughed at you when you showed her your "stuff", is no reason to slam the rest of us who enjoy a little competition. Personally, when I see someone on the board bragging about how their kodiak, or Big Bear, or whatever had to pull a Wolverine out of the mud, It makes me look forward to coming across a big sloppy bog next time I'm out with one of my buddies with those bikes. You can't take this board too seriously. For the most part, the guys and girls here are friends, and that's what friends do.... tease eachother about their EVERYTHING being inferior.... car, house, wife, and yes.... even BIKE! Lighten up guys.

derekjes...the point of my post was that many of the slanderous posts seem to be by those that fit into 3 catagories...1-the haves, 2- the have nots, 3- the insecure or any combination of the three.
When a group of guys or girls that are friends slam each other for whatever reason, that is play. So when you say to your buddy that his mother has a big butt and he says your father has a bigger butt then you are just kidding with each other.
But when you go to the store and you see your friends mom in the next row and you yell over the shelves 'man that old lady in the next aisle has a huge butt!' then you are nothing but a petty ignoramus.
Likewise when I leave my friend behind on my quad and then tell him I had a nice rest while I was waiting for him to catch up, that is fun. If I went in one of the forums here and cowardly hid behind some screen name and told everyone in there that if they ride brand "X" they, there entire families AND their quad sucks then I would be no different from the petty jerk in the store. There is a large difference between competition and confrontation. Those that make derogatory, caustic, blanket, unfounded, statements about generalities are only there to cause conflict and bring disunity.
