Ok, a friend of mine just got a new kodiak 4x4 and yesterday he got stuck. When he was stuck, the front wheel that was in the air spun like crazy but the one that was on the ground didnt move at all. What should he do to make it a true 4x4? We tried the drag the brake thing and that didnt work, so is his next option just to get a locker for it??

As far as I know, the locker kit is the only hope. I had earlier contacted them about making a locker kit that could reomotely lock and unlock (like a air locker for 4wd cars/trucks/jeeps) using a cable, air, or electric solenoids. But, they said it would be cost prohibitive, especially since there are too many different designed front end units on atv's.

I changed the gear lube in the front end - went heavier - seemed to help a little bit
