Default SOMETHING IS BROKE IN THE INSIDE

On my 98 warrior I just put on new starter. The fly wheel will turn as long as there are no spark plug in the cyclender. As soon as you go to put the plug while its trying to turn over, it boogs down and will not turn over, (just makes a noise). Something has got to be broken on the inside, could it be a sheer pin? Thanks for your help.

does the warrior have a one-way starter clutch? Sounds like a similar common problem that the Raptor 660 has with it.
