04 Blaster starts, idles, but will not rev up HELP??
#1
I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me figure out what the issue is with my 04 blaster.
It starts and idles but when I give it throttle, it refuses to rev up. You can hear the carb open up and the exhaust tone sounds more "throaty", but all it does is increase the smoke from the exhaust (no blue smoke, just white smoke which looks normal to me). It sounds almost like it is flooded. it should be mentioned that when I give it throttle, the engine goes from smooth idle to a pulsing sound.
I have tried the following with no results: cleaned carb, rebuilt carb, replaced carb, replaced air filter, replaced spark plug, gas, and oil.
what more could there be??

i beleive the 04's had a parking brake... check the brake at the back... push the parcking brake assembly forward on the bottom until it stops then try again...

speedy thanks for the reply but Im not exactly sure what you mean by "push it forward on the bottom"
are you referring to the hand lever area? the foot brake area, or one of the actual areas of the calipers? Forgive me Im a great mechanic but still ignorant when it comes to working on quads
