Default Twist Throttle on 660 Raptor...

I have been wanting to install a twist throttle on my 660 Rappy. Does anyone here have that set up and how do you like it? I do Baja desert riding and after about 8 hours on the bike my thumb has about had it. I know there is a company called Terry Cable that makes a throttle kit that converts to twist or thumb at the pull of a pin. Anyone heard of it?

I never did like a twist throttle on a 4-wheeler, but the twist and thumb throttle may work good for what you need.

I tried the twist throttle on my Raptor....didn't like it.

I had the same problem as you, sore-thumb-itis. I put on the twist and liked it until the first "gotcha" (hidden rock) surprised me during a race. My first reaction was to get a death grip on the bars, which in turn caused me to give the Raptor full throttle...lawndarting my butt off into the desert.

After dusting off the dirt and Cactus needles, I finished the race, went home, and went back to thumb.

Now, after 5 years, I've got the thumb muscles of a world class thumb wrestler....no more sore-thumb-itis....LOL.

Yeah, they can be dangerous. My buddy used to have a Quadracer 250 with a twist throttle. He was turning around and somehow his shirt got caught around the thottle and it pinned it wide open with the handlebars turned all the way to the right! He was cutting doughnuts for about 5 minutes hanging halfway off his bike. I almost crapped my pants laughing so hard. He finally managed to hit the kill switch, but only after digging a 6" deep donut circle in the ground. I've never seen anything like that happen with a thumb throttle before!

LOL!! I can bet on that.

Actually I purchased one for my Raptor drag bike that had the dual FCR 35mm and never installed it, still in the original box. I wanted to but never got around to do it. Parted the quad on ebay.
