Default Executioners and Kodiak/Grizz 450's

I asked this question in the susp. and tires section but figered i'd drop it here too. I'm hoping someone here can speak from experience. I'm looking to upgrade my tires to some executioners, would rather not bother buying rims, if i can get away with it.

Well my question is, will these tires beat the crap out of my quad? I understand that they are heavy tires, but the drive line in this machine seems heavier duty then some of the big bores out there....BF.....I also wonder if sticking 26"'s on my stock rims is possible, without major modifications( I assume i will have to zipcut part of the rear fender off for clearence). Our riding terrain varies from paved to thick slop. I was satisfied with the traction the stock tires provided on hard packed trails where i could hang with pretty much any other bike i've rode with, but when it comes to the mud i pretty much get owned.

You are right... you'll need to zip cut a small portion of the rear fender/foot board. You shouldn't need to do any other mods. 26"s are a nice size upgraed for that bike. Executioners are nice... they're made by Kenda eh?!

they're so close to ITP's 589's that you might want to check to see which one weighs less...

Don't Rule out the ITP Mudlite XTR's I am surprised Junker didn't recommend them :-p

I was hoping to stay away from IPT for the most part. The people i ride with who have ITP's have more plugs in them then my stockers. We ride alot of abandoned railbeds, over cut brush ( hydro corridor) and other rough terrain and to be honest they just don't seem to fare well.

So then you might want to consider the Maxxis Bighorns then

I'm a really big fan of my radials as Crazy has already stated, but I do find them a little bit pricey. Big Horns are nice but aren't they kinda expensive too?

I've had 589's for a few years... I've never popped a hole in them. I've done it w/ the mudlites... but never the 589's.

Those Executioners are pretty bad *** tires also. The lugs seem a bit far apart like Mudzillas to me. I could be wrong but I think it would make the bike a bit bumpy like a tractor eh?! Anyone use either of those tires and noice the ride change to bumpy like cordoroy?

I agree with Hebs. I've ridden with two friends who have the 589's and have never had a leak. The Mudlites I had however got a hole darn near every time out. The 589's wear like iron too.
