Default help needed on banshee motor

well me and a friend bought a 99 shee which was already blown so we tore it apart and come to find out the rod was done so we had a new rod put on and sealed the bottom end back and replaced one of the pistons well everything went back together great but when we went to fire it up the right side was not runnin right so we checked the carbs and they were fine and it some in the piston so we checked everything over and made sure the cylinder was fine which it was and fired it up again it ran for 4 seconds and died but when it ran it sounded great well the second time it ran under 2 seconds and after one more kick the motor locked up...giving up on it tonight can anybody give me any idea or clue what would have caused this???any information would be helpful.
