Help!!!! Warrior Carb
#1
I rebuilt the top end of my warrior. I added a bigger piston and had it bored. I changed the main jet from the stock 145 to a 150. When cranked and ideling it does fine. but when you give it gas it sometime has a white smoke? It looks like cold smoke and goes away fast and has a bad smell. ( No Oil Burning Smell Thank God). Do i need to adjust my Air Flow screw or anything. I also added a USED aftermarket exhust that a friend gave me. I was told the exhust might have somehthing in it that may be burning. Any help would be great. I did pull the airflow screw out 1/4 turn from the stock setting.
Also does anyone know what the next jet up from the stock (145) is. I was told it was the 150 but i have read different. I am wondering if i am getting to much gas.

White smoke does not indicate a rich condition. You really shouldn't need to move your mixture screw much, I would just leave it as is. Have you given the top-end the proper time for a break in yet?

Yes. I just added the new jet. I have been riding it after the rebuild with the old jet but the engine was overheating. So i as told to put a bigger jet in it cause the Air/Fuel mixture wasnt right and it was running lean so i did. I also added this exhust. (Witch is used) That is when i started getting the white smoke

For reference purposes, with my setup listed in my sig I run a 155 main with the clip on the needle in the very top position and mixture screw at stock setting; and get that lovely tan color on my plug that shows it is just right.
It sounds like you need to a plug chop process. Go somewhere where you can run it wide open, and while wide open just shut it off, pull in the clutch and come to a stop and immediately pull the spark plug and see what color it is. White=lean Black=rich Tan=Perfect.

Good idea. I will try that tomorrow thanks to everyone for your help. One question i do have is where do i set the main clip on the needle. I am not sure how to do that.

The stock position is in the middle-3rd position. The closer to the top you move it, the leaner it runs, the closer to the bottom, the richer. After my ride today at the Badlands I had to move mine back down to the 2nd position down from the top to richen it up just a bit. Getting the needle out is a pain in the *** on Warrior carbs, unfortunately. I would highly recommend you getting a Clymer's or similar manual for your quad, as it gives a break down of how to do about anything required on the quad, as well as parts diagrams and so forth.
