Is it bad to ride without the Air Box Lid?

filter no, prevent from entering through the top of the airbox yes, if its not a sealed airbox then it will very easily pull dirt into the intake.

Not sure if they make these for the 700's
i got an 05 660 and where the lid should be is a POWER LID. its like the lid but is a filter....Its K&N and i have a K&N air filter as well. yes it makes your quad faster..if you want it running good, safe and fast buy This

Got it. Yes, you need the something like the GYTR adapter with K&N clamp type filter. Not the stock setup.
I run open airbox and totally agree about not riding in lots of water or really muddy conditions. For that you gotta put the lid back on.
