Default Another warrior problem

sorry bout asking questions on my first post, but i have a semi serious problem i believe. i just put a new bottom end on my bro in laws 87 warrior. i used the top end of his old motor and the bottom end is off of a 2000 model. i adjusted the valves and got the bike running. it would start up run fine then when u would cut it off u would have to wait 10 mins before it would crank again figured out that i had the timing off. reset the timing and readjusted the valves and that "fixed it". well i got on it and took it down the street and brought it back cut it off and restarted it bout 10 times and it ran fine. i took it back down the road and before i could get turned around it started acting like it was loosing power and then it just died and havent been able to restart it. sorry bout the post bein so long just didnt want to leave anything out.

if anybody has an idea it would be greatly appreciated
oh yeah one thing i forgot to mention is the old top end was just rebuilt before the bottom end threw the crankshaft through the case (showed it to the mechanic and he said it was the worst he had ever seen LOL)

Welcome to the forums! For some reason I think perhaps you are having an issue at the CDI box perhaps due to the different model parts.

Does it crank and just not turn over or will it not try and start at all?

Usually mix and matching engine halves is a big nono. They wear differently in the different quads and it could cause the piston/crank to bind.

did not know that but it turns over just will not start up to fix that do i need to have the jug honed and a new piston put in? checked the compression and it has good compression dont know if that makes a difference like i said though it seemed to run fine when we got thte timing right it just wont start now and it didn't make any noise when it died it just kinda acted like it i left off the gas but i didnt.

If yu have compression, and you have spark at the right time, the only other thing it could be is a fuel problem. Maybe there's trash in the carb that got in there when you had it apart, or some trash in the fuel tank got shook up when you had it off?
