Red face Am Officially Eating Crow

I'm officially eating crow these days boys. Gave the Yamaha camp a hard time previously, including Dodge57Hemi about the Grizzly. The wife wanted an ATV with power steering and I found a decent deal on an 09 Grizz 700 w/EPS and pulled the trigger! With a little more ride time on one now I have indeed found there is certainly more of a lighter/nimble feel to it compared to my 08 Sportsman 800, and the PS is amazing! The Polaris has an edge on power and ride quality, but the Grizz is no slouch and is a treat to drive, I'll likley drive it just as much as the Polaris. I'll also never buy another ATV without PS, my next move will be to upgrade my 800 to an 850 with PS, or possibly another Grizz?? Yes it's that good, and has enough power to keep me satisfied.

Yep, after my first ride this season where there were alot of exposed tree roots, I began to dream of power steering. Maybe an X2 550 XP????

Welcome to my world. lol I was thoroughly impressed with mine out of the box, but wait till it gets fully broken in. If it is anything like my 700 you will find that it has about 20% more power once everything seats real good. A truly great machine IMO.

Crow isn't too bad if it has been feeding on corn. (They told me it was ruffed grouse and had a good laugh)

Good to know Moose, don't feel so bad now lol!

Cody, I've noticed a bit of a throttle/power lag down low but once it hits it revs and midrange it takes off with authority. Has anyone used a clutch kit to remedy this? My Po Po 800 has better low end punch but when comparing roll on acceleration, they are quite close and the Po Po takes a while to get ahead!

That is exactly how mine acted and it ran so well otherwise I dismissed it. After about 300 miles, and my miles are pretty hard ones, that lag is gone and it wheelies when I have adequate traction. I haven't ridden the XP or the 800 but if they run better than what I have they are beasts. I have ridden with guys that have them and so far I haven't been impressed, but that could have easily been their skill level too. Not saying that I am all that, but I have noticed that few ride with the "spirit" that I do. Maybe I don't get out enough? Anyways, keep us posted and see if yours breaks in like mine did.

Thanks, will do. I was quite surprised at how well the Grizz did, roll on acceleration side by side from about 10-20 mph and the 800 would eventually pull ahead but very slowly. It has another 10 hp and an extra cylinder but the extra weight obviously makes a big difference. The XP would be a beast for sure. FYI the Grizz only has about 40 miles on it so sounds like it may do better yet!
