I've riden both of those bikes and i much prefer the 400ex over the z400. In my opinion the 400ex has a sportier feel all around but everyone has they're own opinion.

One of my favorite bikes i've ever riden was a 400ex with a 440 big bore kit. That thing was fast!!

My cousin bought an 02 Warrior new, and changed the cam, exhaust, and opened up the airbox. I bought a cheaper and waaaaay slower 02 Trailblazer 250....I could go thru a lot more rough stuff and ride a lot longer without getting cramped and achey....

I liked it blasting down a straightaway, but any other time I liked my putt-putt TBlazer.

We're both 6'3", 250-ish, and to me a 400EX feels to much like your sitting up to high.

Anyway, I like the ride and power of a Scrambler, either 400 or 500, especially being a bigger boy

IMO, the suzuki out shines the honda in every aspect.... well except for durability and reliability. The 400ex is outdated. Don't get me wrong, it's a bike that changed the sport of ATV's back in the 90's, but we're now in 2010 and its dinosaur technology just doesn't cut it.

Any who, I would choose the Z400. It's faster, quicker and handles better. But then again that is just my opinion, others will state otherwise

400ex came out in 99... and even then it had very low production numbers. dealerships were limited to just a couple for the entire year!!! it definitely helped the sport though.

cant go wrong with a z400 or 400ex both awesome bikes, reliable, very tunable, versatile, and comfortable, z400s have a real nice feel imo, when heavily tuned warriors really do get alot of low end power low and mid end, warriors really never have high rev power, even the 446s dont really have high rev, but god damn do they pull hard, some 446s have more torque then the 450s which is insane, i know if i was gonna keep modding mine out i would get way better suspension and a better steering stem and raptor clutch perch swap and a few other things, the riding position and feel is really nice but they beat the hell out of you lol.

On my 02 warrior I was faster then a suzuki 400. We raced and I hit 6th gear and passed him. If you are talking right off though you are right. It was a long distance race.
