2001 Kodiak 400 4x4 Transmission problems
#1
Hello, amongst the recent snowfall I brought out the Kodiak which I have not used in about a month or so. I have used it in the snow ever since I have had it, but this time around it just would not go. With the tires I have on it(gators and bearclaws) I have never gotten it stuck(in snow), only deep mud. The engine revs but the power just is not getting to the ground. Also, I have to cut the machine off to switch gears(automatic tranny), the gear shift does not want to go form one gear to another. Any comments? I am going to be taking to the motorcycle dealership for service but am wondering if there is anything I can do in the meanwhile. Thanks in advance.
PS I used to do a lot of mud bogging when I first got it but for the last few years it has been mostly used in the winters. I read if it sits around or has encountered mud(both apply for me in this case) it can cause problems with the belt slipping.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

i would take off the belt housing cover and inspect/ clean the clutch before paying rediculous shop prices. make sure all the rollers/weights in the primary move freely...that might be your problem.
let us know how it goes.
