2001 Blaster Oil
#1
I was wondering what oil I use for the transmission? I would like to change it this weekend and would like to use a good oil. How much does it take? Do I fill to the top of site glass? Thanks for any help!

there should be a little line engraved on the side of the case....kinda hard to see but you fill it up on level ground till its even with that mark, they take like 10w30 motor oil or 80w 90 gear oil, Rotella diesel truck oil works good too, dont use dexron though, Castrol, Yamalube are good the best one i know of is Bel-Ray gear saver but its pretty expensive.

Thank you for the reply! I will try the castrol. Will gear saver work in the palce of 10w30? I would like to use whatever would make it last longer. Also do you you shift without using the clutch after you start out for speed shifing or do you use the clutch? thanks

10w30 and 80w90 is about the same viscosity and the Bel-Ray Gear Saver oil is definitely the best oil you can use for a blaster imo but alot of the others will do just fine, ive always used the clutch, the only time i dont use the clutch is sometimes on long wheelies, when i speed shift i basically just like feather the clutch only like quick 2 finger pulls or sometimes on certain bikes i would kill switch shift lol, hold it wide open then hit the kill switch and shift, instead of havin to let off the gas or pull the clutch in, but that was just messing around on old dirtbikes.
