Hi eberyone. I just bought a 2000 Kodiak new in December and love the machine. I've been talking to other owners and haven't heard anything good. I was told of brake problems, cooling seals letting go, and even broken driveshafts on the 2000 models. Has anyone else heard of these problems? I know the back brake pad tend to wear like crazy.

I've been beating the snot out of mine for almost two years (2000 model). The only thing I've had go wrong was the rear pads. I replaced them with EBCs, and they still look new after well over a year. I just change all of my fluids yesterday, and everything is fine. I could use another front bumper, though.

No probs here after 1000 miles of abuse, other than rear pad at 700 miles.

Im glad to hear that Quadfather. I just bought some EBS sentered rear pads. I have had a water pump go out but the satifaction I have recieved from my Kodiak has far outweighed that. I love my Kodiak and would buy another.

The only problems I have had with mine, have been the brake pads and I have had some problems getting the machine into park. When I put the lever in park and the light doesn't turn on, I can move the machine around. I also hear a sound like it is skipping gears. I will be taking back to dealers soon again. Other then that I love the beast.

Stock pads tend to wear out quickly. Some Kodiaks including mine have problems with the water pump seal. But the machine can handle a lot of abuse. I'm constantly taking it in deep water, jumping it, etc and it has held up rather well.

Thats because you need to adjust your gear range selectors shaft that goes back, mine used to do that but after I adjusted it it's never done it again.
