Problem Need Help!
#1
Hi fellow ATVers. I was out for a 4 hour ride on my 2009 Wolverine 450 and came home and washed with a garden hose. It was very dusty so i popped off the seat and put water on all the parts underneath the seat and got the electricals wet (it has winch wiring too). I fired it up to move it inside my garage and it started the first time but died out because it was not getting enough choke. I tried another time but it wouldnt start and started sparking at the electicals near the battery (not sure exactly where it was sparking, i couldn't look and didn't want to damage anything). I moved it inside by hand hoping it would dry up and start. A few hours later i tested the winch but there was more sparking and so i let go right away. i waited 5 days and went back today to see what was happening and i tried to turn it on. the instrument cluster did not come on and it had no electrical power to anything. I tried to move the kill switch to the kill position and the instrument cluster came on but when i did anything it would turn off, even if i pulled the brake lever. Then, one time everything started to work so i tried to start it but i heard a click under the seat and then i was back where i started. could any of you guys help me out?
i would really appreciate it! (P.S the battery is fully charged at 12.6v)

Check the main wires, both battery terminals and wires on solenoid and earths. There will be a main wire from the fuse to the ignition switch, check this wire is OK and that the fuse is not corroded. I have known the terminal for the ignition live wire to be dead on the solenoid, you will then have to fit a new solenoid.

Yeah water shouldn't hurt anything, it's all supposed to be water proof for the most part. I put my RZR underwater all the time, with the snorkel of course. sounds like your battery terminals are loose.
