Question No spark on 1987 moto 4 225

Hi. I have a 1987 Moto 4 225. I have never had a problem with this ATV until now. I am getting no spark. I have replaced the ignition coil. Still no spark. I have tried tracing bad wires and still have had no luck. I am in the process of removing the fly will to see if the stater has a broken wire.
I have read where there might be a broken wire in there, the on off switch might have a broken wire, or just a broken wire somewhere on the ATV.
I have been trying to track the problem and I have no idea.
I know people have problems with this before. If someone can help me figure out a solution, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you

For 5 bucks this service manual with its wiring schematic, resistance checks and trouble shooting guides can help. No sense in tearing into something with no idea what to check out.A simple meter can get to the source of the problem or at least narrow it down.https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail....pair-1986-1988

Thank you for the input.
I am going to check each wire. I have the original wire diagram for the it.
Does the one that you recommend have the voltage that each wire should have running to it?

I know this is simple, but check what condition your sparkplug is in. I've had sooty plugs fail to spark because the resistance is too high, or it sparks on the side of the tip rather than through the gap.

I put a new plug in when I put on the new coil.
The old plug were fine. Just a little bit of carbon on on it.
On my multi meter what setting do you suggest I check the wires with?
DC?

The cheap manual can tell you what to check for and resistance values on the stator, etc. Ohms resistance is what yo can check along with some manuals show stator amperage checks. This is usually detailed in the manual.

Most bikes will run fine with a stator that is toast, until the battery goes flat. The CDI or wiring is the most likely to cause a no spark issue, followed by the pickup coil. However the checks have to be done, and OPT's point about a manual is the way to go.

Thank you very much for all of your help.
I have attached a picture of the multi meter. What Setting is the best for checking this?
Thank you

Wrong meter, that one is for AC circuits, never seen one that can't do DC before. I guess some of the tests can be done with it.

Over to the electronics experts.
