That’s good to know. Thanks. I did get an o ring and snap ring on to hold plug. No leak so far. However now my Beartracker backfires randomly into carb so much I can see intake boot jump. I have hadn’t this problem before. Could this be timing a tooth off or maybe a new fuel filter I recently added? Runs good when I give it throttle and start riding but after I throttle back down it wants to backfire again into carb. Could this be from a lean condition as a result of gas not flowing enough through filter at idle or low throttle? I’m kind of puzzled at this. Half choke it starts and idles good though but Even when warm and choke off it will start back firing randomly. I also checked valve clearance last week and everything is to specs. New timing chain. Tensioner is good. Cam is good. Cam bearing is new. New air filter. Taking air filter off didn’t help either and neither did blocking intake off some with my hand.

Most likely to be a partly blocked idle jet, clean the carb out, and while you have it removed, check the rubber inlet manifold for air leaks, apparently Yamahas are prone to cracked inlets.
