Default 2002 Yamaha Kodiak 400

I just recently bought a Yamaha Kodiak 400 and have rode it a couple times seemed to fine, then it started acting weird....sounded like it was trying to start even though it was already running barely. Got it back in the garage, turned the key off, and kept running. Only way I could stop it was to discoonect positive battery cable, which was very hot. With the key off, when trying to reconnect battery cable, it tries to start?? Any one have this issue, or can give me some ideas?

Solenoid gone bad, buy a new one and make sure you wire it up M to motor, B to battery. Also, the cause of a solenoid sticking can be a dead cell in the battery so, if your battery is bad, it may kill another solenoid.

Thanks for the quick reply. Kinda thought that to be the case, already have starter and solenoid switch on the way, not sure about the battery, but will go ahead and get a new one as well. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. Will let you know.
